Bob Kinney – Hot Rod Helicopter (HRH)

What can only be described as a brilliant design scratch built helicopter. The perfect example of what can be achieved when a few friends put their heads together. The Hot Rod Helicopter was the outcome of a little thought and elbow grease – a simple helicopter design based on the Subaru EJ22/EJ25 car engine using readily available parts and simple machining techniques. The only difficult part to manufacture on the Hot Rod Helicopter looks like the swashplate which was made from a casting – though there are plenty of easier options.
